OnBoarder is an online questionnaire which allows organisations to measure the levels of engagement and commitment amongst its new starter population. New starters evaluate the effectiveness of the process by which they were hired and inducted, and whether the reality of the job meets with any expectations they held prior to joining.
What does it measure?
- Organisational Employee Engagement: new starters are split into three categories; ‘Leavers’, ‘At Risk’ and ‘Engaged’. This helps to pinpoint where the onboarding process is working well and where levels of engagement are already low.
- Meeting of Expectations: the questionnaire measures the extent to which the pre-joining expectations of the new joiner have been met by working with you so far and if not, in which aspects is there a mismatch.
- Induction Process: new joiners evaluate the effectiveness of your induction process highlighting where the process was either omitted or was not carried out effectively.
- Recruitment Process: this section describes how your new starters evaluated all elements of your recruitment process, such as your careers website, communications packs, assessment techniques and interviewers.
- Demographic Profile: the demographic and organisational characteristics of the respondents are gathered so that the data can be broken down by function, department, job role or location.
- Open-ended feedback: respondents are also given the opportunity to describe in their own words what the experience of working for you has been like so far. This feedback adds ‘colour’ and context to the data.
How does the process work?
OnBoarder is typically used by organisations with their new joiners during the first twelve months of employment. The questionnaire can be completed anonymously so that respondents feel that they can be open and honest about their experiences of joining the organisation. Alternatively the system can be configured to generate an individual new start profile, that is used as part of a face to face conversation.
OnBoarder is fully customisable in that the specific steps of the hiring and induction process of the client can be incorporated into the questionnaire. TalentDrain will work with you to capture this information and implement your OnBoarder questionnaire.
As with all TalentDrain products, the administration process is fully automated through our online system. Respondents are invited by email to complete the questionnaire and completion rates can be viewed online at anytime. Non-respondents are sent weekly reminders so that a high completion rate is achieved.
Once sufficient data has been collected, TalentDrain will process the data and produce Group Reports. The frequency of reporting is driven by the client but will typically occur on a monthly, quarterly or six monthly basis, depending upon the volumes of new starters. For organisations using the Individual Version of OnBoarder reports are available the moment the candidate completes the questionnaire. |
